Tech’know’logy

Knowledge is a virtue, as it helps one understand the profound and superficial.

While we also know that a little knowledge can be a perilous thing. So the question is – how much is too much? How do we know we’re full, accomplished, enlightened or it’s a wrong way altogether?

Well, we actually can’t… so technically we all are apprentices venturing through the treacherous paths to tolerance.

Let’s put aside the philosophy and come to the context.

So Technology, on the other hand, has turn out to be a bridge to bond the gaps of the erstwhile unfathomable. So when you book your cab through your handheld device, your refrigerator orders milk from the grocery store. Or if you’re driving, your handheld device alerts you of the traffic eruptions and re-routes you to your destination keeping your driver’s license and car documents safely into some virtual locker.  See I told you…

And then when you’re in office, the new guy gets his laptop with all the preloaded software regardless of his location where he is also allocated a seat which he didn’t have to ask for. His documents are all saved in a secure cloud drive and the tables are all paperless!

Now when we are exploring new possibilities and innovations … are we there yet? Well as new stories develop and as more people are influenced, there will always be a darker side. Technology is that untamable horse whose front legs are always in the air (I assume it has wings too).

Kids with the handheld devices and the expensive mojos are a major concern. Yes… MAJOR than the hackers and swindlers. Unmonitored access to technology is like gatecrashing a party. You don’t know anyone yet it fun. Good and monitored parenting with guidance and governance can make the access to information more inculcating and refined.

Similarly, for the mellowed, firewalls play an imperative role at work. But then Wikipedia can be another distraction with unreliable information. An organization can bring in the fruits of Technology to secure, submit and adhere to its own set goals. The key here is to always keep the boots on. Staying ahead and maintaining equal levels of upgrades to keep up with the dark side. The latest and updated technology not only keeps the organization secure but also helps save time and resources. New innovative technology can collaborate, engage and integrate with their peers. So your payroll and actually talk to your attendance system and leave management systems keeping aside the manual work and excel sheets. (Talk in a sense, not literally). Unrestricted productivity can be achieved through good and monitored authority with guidance and governance just like what I mentioned above.

Knowing technology is circumvent. What we need to do is knowing what’s extant. Sharpening the contemporary learnings and concoct on the curiosities what technology might bring in the days ahead. We can be proactive or fall on the face, but we should never stop learning!
